How to Volunteer
Do One Thing For Our School — Get Involved at Montera
Research shows that parent involvement is a key ingredient to successful students. Want to make the school a better place for your child, meet other families and learn more about our school? Then Do Just One Thing for Montera each and every year your student attends. There are lots of ways to contribute — big and small — from sending some emails asking for auction donations to joining the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) board. You choose the level of involvement and the areas that interest you. When we all pitch in, it makes a huge difference!
See the links on the left for current volunteer opportunities, and fill out our Volunteer Survey to let us know how you can help.
Volunteering through the PTO
Our school has so many great ways to get involved at all levels, from joining the Dads Club (you don't have to be a dad!) to bringing brownies to a bake sale! Whether you're looking for a one-day gig or a long-term commitment or something in between, we can use your time and talents to help Montera students. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, get to know your student's teachers and find out what's going on at school.
Please fill out our Volunteer Survey to let us know what you're good at and what you're interested in — we want volunteering to be fun and make use of your unique skills!

Volunteering through OUSD
The Oakland Ed Fund coordinates volunteers in partnership with OUSD. To volunteer in the classroom or for certain other roles, you must complete their registration process. Some roles also require a background check and fingerprinting. The Ed Fund also coordinates groups of volunteers from companies and other organizations, if you are interested in a community service project.
